Catamount Band Club Meeting - Thur October 8^th

The Dalton Band Club will hold it's monthly general meeting on Thursday October 8th at 7:30 pm in the band room at Dalton High School. We will be finished in time to watch the last 30 minutes of band practice.  All parents of Dalton High School and Dalton Middle School band students are automatically members of the Dalton Band Club and are invited to attend. We hope to see everyone there. Dalton Band Club Scholarship Info

The Dalton Band Club offers 3 scholarships to qualified applicants. The first 2 scholarships are for graduating seniors: one for honor students based on highest GPA and the other for those that will be music majors in college. The third scholarship is for DMS and DHS students that are looking to further their music learning through a summer music camp or other opportunity. Please print the appropriate scholarship from the links below, complete the form, and submit to your band director.

Ring the Bell for Salvation Army - Wednesday 11/25 

Mrs. Zeisig has arranged for the Dalton Band to man the Salvation Army kettle at Krogers on Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving (which is a school holiday).  Time slots from 12 noon to 8 pm are available. If any band families or small groups of students would like to ring the Salvation Army bell (or play your band instruments) outside of Krogers, please let Mrs Zeisig (email) know, since she has volunteered to create the schedule. This is a great opportunity for the band to show that we care about our community.

Dalton vs. Rome Football Game Moved to Thursday Night - 10/22

"Dalton High School's varsity football game with Rome High School has been moved to Thursday night because of anticipated bad weather, Dalton athletics director Ronnie McClurg said. The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. at Harmon Field. The forecast for Friday night calls for a 70 percent chance of rain. Showers are expected to be heavy, according to the National Weather Service." (Dalton Daily Citizen)

OUR REVISED ITINERARY FOR THURSDAY: 4:00-5:30p full band rehearsal, 5:30p load truck and put on uniforms, 6:00p load buses, 6:15p depart DHS for Harmon Field (No Cat Walk tonight), 7:00 pre-game, 7:30p kickoff.  We will wear BLACK pants so we can save our white pants for the competition on Saturday. Please help spread the word to all band members.

Directions (per N Paulding website): Take I-75 South, Take Exit 283 (Emerson), Turn right onto Old Allatoona Road, Turn left as soon as you cross US 41 in order to get on US 41 South,  Go south on US 41, Turn right on Ridgeview Trial, Turn right on Green Ridge Road, Turn left at Lead Mountain Rd SE, Turn right at Dabbs Bridge Rd, Turn right at Harmony Grove Church Rd (4 way stop), You will see the school entrance about half a mile ahead on the right. [72 miles]

Directions: Take I-75S to exit # 288 (Cartersville/Main Street/GA 113). Turn towards Cartersville off exit. Stay on GA 113 through Cartersville for approximately 18 miles. The school will be on your left, Look for the "Pizza Farm" sign and turn left onto Knox Mt Road to enter the school property. (directions taken for the info packet sent to all band directors).

What's wrong with this picture?  Answer: There are football players in it. Football players do not belong on the field during halftime while the bands are playing. This is RUDE! During the entire halftime performance tonight, we had several Dalton football players that interfered with the band's show. Come on guys, show some respect.

Itinerary: 4:30 be dressed and ready, 4:45 load buses, 5:00 depart for Cass, 7:30 kickoff.

Directions (per school website): Directions from I-75 South -- Exit #290 (Rome/Canton) and turn right onto Ga. Highway 20. Go to the dead end at traffic light. Turn left onto 411/41, and then make an immediate right going up the ramp to Highway 41 North. Go to first traffic light (Quick Trip station on right). Turn right onto Grassdale Road. Go one mile.
